If you are in debt and constantly behind on your bills
then the bottom line is you like most Americans are living beyond your
means.
Stop doing that!
Reprioritize our spending, make a budget and stick to it. Money can't
buy you happiness but overspending and living in debt is a guarantee of
misery. If you find yourself robbing Peter to pay Paul I suggest you read
what they have to say about money and debt in the bible. This can help you
value things differently and make you rich in ways you can't imagine when
you lay up your treasures in Heaven rather than on earth. When that happens
you may find that you become prosperous here and now, so either way you win.
Taking control of credit
If you need help paying your bills, you have several options:
Contact your creditor and try to work out an adjusted
repayment plan.
Check your telephone directory for nonprofit financial
counseling programs. Some universities, county extension centers, military
bases, credit unions, housing authorities and banks operate programs and
charge little, if anything, for assistance.
Contact Consumer Credit Counseling Service, a nonprofit
agency. Debt counselors will try to arrange a repayment plan that is
acceptable to you and your creditors and will set up a budget for you.
